Scott & Ritter, Inc. is a heavy utility contractor located in Bowling Green, KY. We construct storm and sanitary sewer, water facilities, water and waste water treatment plants, underground electric facilities, gas lines, and highway utilities. In addition, we also perform blasting, site development, design build, construction management, value engineering and much more. We cater to work in our immediate vicinity, but we consider our working radius within 100 miles of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Our History

Scott & Ritter, Inc. is the direct descendant of the utility division of Scotty’s Contracting, Inc. Scotty’s Contracting formed back in 1972 and the utility division separated as its own entity in 1982. That entity began with a contract entered into by Jim Scott and the manager of his utility division, Larkin Ritter, thus creating Scott & Ritter, Inc. In 1988, Larkin Ritter purchased all outstanding stock held in the company and became the sole owner.

Over the years, we have developed into one of the premier heavy utility construction companies in the region. We have evolved to perform much more than just utility work, including site development, grade and drain, demolition services, mechanical utilities, engineering solutions and much more. We have worked very hard to become solidified as one of the preferred civil contractors for many public and private institutions, as well as several municipal organizations.

Large Service Area

We consider our working radius to be within 100 miles of Bowling Green, Kentucky. This is including, but not limited to, Franklin, Glasgow, Scottsville, Morgantown, Leitchfield, Owensboro, Elizabethtown, Hopkinsville, and Columbia. We also have a center of operations in Middle Tennessee with crews available to work in areas including, but not limited to, Murfreesboro, La Vergne, Smyrna, Nashville, Gallatin, and Springfield, Tennessee.

State-of-the-Art Equipment

Scott & Ritter has a very large and diverse fleet of construction equipment. Although we are not typically thought of as an equipment rental company, we can rent equipment (operators provided) to the public. This includes excavators, mini excavators, bulldozers, track and rubber tire loaders, skid steers, backhoes, grader, etc. We can also provide dump trucks with CDL drivers.
